Hind.Foods(up 1.69%), Bajaj Consumer(up 1.10%), DFM Foods(up 0.55%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.24%) and Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.14%) stood among the top gainers.

Vadilal Industries(down 8.03%), Umang Dairies(down 6.26%), Nakoda Group(down 4.78%), Emami(down 4.59%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 4.37%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 4.19%), Dodla Dairy(down 4.03%), Future Consumer(down 4.00%), Varun Beverages(down 3.81%) and JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 3.66%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 430.9 points down at 15809.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1416.3 points at 52792.23.

ITC(up 3.32%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.61%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 6.25%), HCL Technologies(down 5.99%), Infosys(down 5.44%), Tech Mahindra(down 5.43%), Tata Consultancy(down 5.42%), Tata Steel(down 4.92%), JSW Steel(down 4.89%), Hindalco Industries(down 4.38%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 4.37%) and IndusInd Bank(down 4.09%) closed in the red.
