NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed lower in the Tuesday’s session.

Hindustan Unilever(up 3.01%), Marico(up 2.57%), Varun Beverages(up 2.16%), Godrej Consumer Products(up 1.84%), Tasty Bite Eatables(up 0.77%), Dangee Dums(up 0.72%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.55%), Euro India Fresh Foods(up 0.26%), Nestle India(up 0.10%) and Emami(up 0.04%) stood among the top gainers.

Prataap Snacks(down 7.91%), Future Consumer(down 7.69%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 5.12%), Nakoda Group(down 4.97%), Hind.Foods(down 4.73%), DFM Foods(down 4.00%), Parag Milk(down 3.03%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 2.98%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 2.93%) and Gillette India(down 2.22%) were among the top losers of the day.



The NSE Nifty50 index ended 61.8 points down at 16240.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 105.82 points at 54364.85.
Motors(up 3.04%), Hindustan Unilever(up 3.01%), Asian Paints(up 2.7%), IndusInd Bank(up 2.37%), UltraTech Cement(up 2.28%), Suzuki(up 2.11%), Kotak Bank(up 1.68%), HDFC Bank(up 1.61%), UPL Ltd(up 1.57%) and SBI Life(up 1.56%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Coal India(down 7.1%), Tata Steel(down 6.98%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 6.25%), JSW Steel(down 4.87%),

Industries(down 4.75%), Tata Motors(down 3.02%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.96%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 2.66%), NTPC(down 2.23%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 2.11%) closed in the red.
