NEW DELHI: Shares of Gallantt Ispat, Rajnandini Metal, GSS Infotech, J Kumar Infra and Cupid Ltd, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Wednesday’s trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 391.5 points down at 16677.6 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Future Market, Karda Const, Uma Exports Ltd., Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd. and Camlin Fine Sc, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 5 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 45 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, ONGC, Britannia, Power Grid, NTPC and Kotak Bank were among top gainers during the day, while Apollo Hospital, Adani Ports SEZ, Hindalco, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 1306.96 points down at 55669.03.

Traders piled up positions in Mining, Gas & Petroleum, Holding Company, Tobacco and InvIT sectors, while selling was witnessed in Agro Processing, Tourism & Hospitality, Media & Entertainment, Learning & Education and Hospitals & Allied Services sectors during the day.
