NEW DELHI: on Tuesday said its standalone net profit for the quarter ended March came in at Rs 1,068.03 crore, up 122.41 per cent from 480.19 crore in the same quarter a year ago. This includes a chunk of profit from discontinued operations.

Revenue from operations was at Rs 6,376.39 crore for the quarter, rising 45.10 pe cent from Rs 4,394.25 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

The Board of Directors recommended a dividend of Rs 5 per equity share for the year ended March 2022 and a special dividend of Rs 5 per equity share, taking the total dividend to Rs 10 per equity share. This is subject to approval of shareholders at Annual General Meeting.

The operating margin of the company declined to 12.10 per cent from 10.01 per cent in the Q4 of last year and 16.19 per cent in Q3 this year.

Net profit margins increased to 12.76 per cent from 10.54 per cent and 8.45 per cent, respectively. Grasim Industries is the holding company for many of the companies in the Aditya Birla Group.

On a consolidated basis, net profit for the March quarter was at Rs 4,070.46 crore, up from Rs 2,616.64 crore in the same period year ago. Revenue from operation shot up to Rs 28,811.39 crore compared to Rs 24,401.45 crore.

Earlier in the day, shares of the company fell 4 per cent ahead of the earnings announcement.
